Around four thousand people will march in unity against drugs and promote healthy choices in Mission Viejo on October 21st.

They'll be participating in the 29th Annual Walk Against Drugs and the 10th Annual South County Disaster Preparedness Expo. They will march from Mission Viejo High School to the Oso Community Park in Mission Viejo.

Every 66 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer's disease. It's the third cause of death in our County. And over 84-thousand people are living with the disease.

Alzheimer's is a progressive brain disease where dementia symptoms gradually worsen over a number of years. In it's early stages, memory loss is mild, but with late-stage Alzheimer's individuals lose the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to their enviroment.

It's a permanent but not progressive disorder characterized by a disruption of motor skkills. Once cerebral palsy occurs, it doesn't get better or worse. With therapy the quality of life and function can be greatly improved.

The Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife observation preserve, located in Modjeska Canyon. It has a Natural Science Center, with interactive exhibits, live animals, native animal taxidermy and children's activities. It's operated by Cal State Fullerton's College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Sickle Cell disease is a chronic blood order that causes the blood cells to mutate into the shape of a sickle that blocks blood vessels, which can cause pain or a stroke.

Approximately, one in every 500 African American births and one of every 36-thousand hispanics has Sickle Cell Disease. The life expectancy of those with the disease is about 40 years old.
